'Escola aberta e con fume': notebook for secondary education teachers
The Laboratory presents a new pedagogical guide for the ‘Escola aberta e con fume’ project, coordinated by the Montescola Foundation. This school activity book is aimed at teachers in secondary education.
May 27, 2025 – This document contains teaching material developed by the Montescola Foundation within the framework of the Laboratory, aimed at secondary education teachers. It is designed to introduce knowledge about Common Land Communities (CMVMC) in schools and promote contextualized education, linked to the territory, the environment, and democratic participation.
It will serve as the basis for implementing the ‘Escola aberta e con fume’ educational project, which promotes:
Connecting the school with its socio-environmental surroundings.
Knowledge of CMVMC as a model for collective self-management of the territory.
Learning based on participation, sustainability, and direct democracy.
The design of practical and experiential activities (visits to ‘montes’, assembly dynamics, environmental care initiatives, etc.).
The document is structured into thematic blocks with progressive activities, adaptable to different school settings, and includes additional resources in its ‘Activiteca'(activity glossary). It is an innovative educational tool for developing active, critical, and locally rooted citizens.
