January 7, 2025 – The Barbanza Ecosocial Laboratory resumes its environmental volunteer days, an initiative that seeks to involve citizens in the recovery of biodiversity in the Barbanza common land. These activities are coordinated by the Montescola Foundation, an organization focused on environmental education and community outreach.

The first day of the year will be held on Friday, January 10, starting at 10:00 a.m. and will include the planting of native trees and a guided tour of the Froxán CMVMC in Lousame. The activity is open to people of all ages and no prior experience is required.

To participate, those interested must register by Wednesday, January 8, by sending an email to info@montescola.org. As is tradition, the day will conclude with a community lunch, a celebration to express gratitude for the collective effort.

The restoration of native forests is one of the fundamental pillars of the Barbanza Ecosocial Laboratory, which promotes various initiatives throughout the region to promote biodiversity and strengthen local collaborative networks. This first initiative inaugurates a program of volunteer days that will run throughout the year.

Barbanza Ecosocial Lab has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) of the Government of Spain, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

Coordinated by Fundación RIA, the Barbanza Ecosocial Lab is a project dedicated to promoting the transition towards environmental sustainability and strengthening resilience in the territorial management of the Barbanza common land.
