Acacia removal day in Isorna
The Barbanza Ecosocial Laboratory continues its series of environmental volunteering events in Rianxo, this time taking place in Isorna.
July 29, 2024 — The Barbanza Ecosocial Laboratory is holding another volunteer event in Rianxo, this time in the Isorna ‘monte’. The activity will take place on the morning of Saturday, August 10, and will focus on removing acacia trees from the local ‘monte’.
The event is open to the general public and will begin at 10:00 a.m. in Souto de Isorna. Registration is required to participate, and must be done by sending an email to info@montescola.org by Thursday, August 8. In appreciation, a light meal will be offered to participants at the conclusion of the day’s work.
Coordinated by Montescola (the entity in charge of community visioning, volunteering, and environmental education activities at the Barbanza Ecosocial Laboratory), the event also includes the collaboration of the Isorna Common Land Community.
Barbanza Ecosocial Lab has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) of the Government of Spain, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
Coordinated by Fundación RIA, the Barbanza Ecosocial Lab is a project dedicated to promoting the transition towards environmental sustainability and strengthening resilience in the territorial management of the Barbanza common land.
