Acacia removal day in Paradela ofTaragoña

The Barbanza Ecosocial Laboratory continues its series of environmental volunteer programs in Rianxo, this time in Paradela (Taragoña).

July 8, 2024 — The Barbanza Ecosocial Laboratory is holding another volunteer program in Rianxo, this time on the Paradela ‘monte’. The activity will take place on the morning of Saturday, July 27, and will focus on removing acacia trees from the springs of the Paradela local water supply system.

The program is open to the general public and will begin at 10:00 a.m. in Paradela, Taragoña. Registration is required to participate, and must be sent by email to info@montescola.org by Thursday, July 25. In appreciation, a meal will be offered to participants at the conclusion of the day’s work.

Coordinated by Montescola (the entity in charge of community foresight, volunteering, and environmental education activities at the Barbanza Ecosocial Laboratory), the event also includes the collaboration of the Paradela common land community.

Barbanza Ecosocial Lab has the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) of the Government of Spain, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

Coordinated by Fundación RIA, the Barbanza Ecosocial Lab is a project dedicated to promoting the transition towards environmental sustainability and strengthening resilience in the territorial management of the Barbanza common land.
